The Newest Member of Our Family

Julie arrived on Addie's Birthday. Can you tell she was just a little excited.

She sleeps in a box with a makeshift blanket and pillow and she has her own stuffed animal.

She's normally dressed in PJ's when she sleeps but she must have been extra tired the day I took this picture. Her purse is filled with money and credit cards that Addie made for her.

And she sleeps right next to Addie's bed at night.

Yes we broke down and bought her an American Girl doll for her birthday. She's now got a list a mile long of cloths etc. that she'd like to get for Julie and Lysie is dying to get her own doll!

Addie's Wonka Party

So for her 7th Birthday we decided on a Wonka Party. Addie would have like a Star Wars party but I was fearful none of her little girl friends would be interested in watching a star wars movie. The Wonka Party was a huge success. The invitation was a chocolate bar with a golden ticket inside. The kids had tickets and we had a concession stand for treats. Then during the movie we had a bubble gum blowing contest to see who could blow the biggest bubble and during one scene I took out a bubble wand and blew bubbles all over that the kids were jumping up and popping.

Oops... the ball just went over the fence!

We learned from the cake we made on her birthday and got the gel stuff to write on the cake with. Sister got to primarily decorate this cake.

Addie's 7

It's hard to believe she's already 7 and then she opens her mouth and I can believe it. But seriously, the time has flown.

Addie just loved her gift from Uncle Jarrod and Aunt Naomi

Addie decorated her own birthday cake with minimal help and supervision of Grammy Karen.

They wanted to use mommy's real china so they were eating the cake and drinking chocolate milk from tea cups.

Lysie Learns to Ride her Bike

So in preparation for school starting this year. Mike worked with Lysie on riding her bike without her training wheels. She rides like a professional now. She's still working on her starting. She can only do it from one side but with daily practice (the approximate mile ride up to school and back) she's improving.

And she takes a bow.
