Can You Say HAIL!

I remember it hailed once growing up in CA. It's the only time I ever remember something akin to snow in So Cal. It's way more common in Texas and does a heck of a lot of damage but it's no less fascinating. A couple of weeks ago in the middle of a storm it all of a sudden got terrible dark and then the noise hit. Hail hitting windows is pretty loud. Check out the pictures.

Teeth Cleaning

Check out how the girls get their teeth cleaned. Growing up it was nothing like this!

Auntie Denise's Visit

Here is Lysie snuggling with "Auntie Denise" my godmother underneath the jean quilt I made for her.

This is a picture just of Addie from our day trip to San Antonio with Auntie Denise:

Today the Playground Tomorrow the World

I can't get over how big they've gotten. While my godmother was out visiting we took the kids to a near by park and I took some pictures of the kids playing on a playground. We used to take the kids to this park a lot when we first moved to Texas. It had a lot of shade and had just enough things for the girls to be entertained.

Howdy Y'all

So I was realizing as we approached Lysie's fifth birthday that at this point both of our kids are really more Texan's than California's. As a kid always claimed I was a New Yorker because that's where I was born but I spend most of my life until I left to go to college in California. In all honesty, I think I just wanted to be different somehow and being a New Yorker made me different from everyone else around me. Since then I've moved around a bit but I've come to realize that as much as I wanted to be different and as far as I ran away from California I am in fact a Californian and so is Mike and it's just kind of weird realizing that our kids aren't. Does this means our kids will have a Texas accent, will they say thing like "howdy, y'all, fixings, and mam". I know they'll certainly be into country music and cowboy wear. Check out the photo below.

Going Somewhere

So I was busy working around the house about a month back and the girls came down dressed like fairies with ton's a little bags telling me that they were going on a trip. It was too funny not to share the moment.

Mike and Kate watch the Superbowl

We had a nice family night dinner and watched the Superbowl even Kate got in the action. She sat there memorized by the TV with her legs up in the air. Mike tried to watch it her way.

Just Messing Around with Camera in Backyard

This is just a reminder why you should have your kids haircut before taking photos. Addie's slicked back hair is because she is growing it out which also explains the bangs in Lysie's eyes. And next time I need to pick Lysie's cloths so that they complement her like the colors in the last photo of her.
