Easter in the Backyard

We had our annual Easter Dinner and Easter egg hunt with our family and really good friends. The following are pictures from that day.

Kate frustrated b/c she can see the candy inside the egg but can't eat it!

Auntie My to the rescue with some chocolate cake! What are auntie's for?!

Robyn said no more cake & Kate is not to happy about it!
Can you tell they're related?! We can tell which side of the family Lysie takes after!

Lysie we discovered is a camera hog. She is terribly fascinated with seeing herself on the video camera.

She's 5!

I can't believe that my baby is 5. Suddenly she looks so big. I can't remember all that we did to celebrate her big day. Though I remember it involving lots of "junk" food. She woke up and got to have blue berry muffins (surprisingly one of her favorites) then she opened her presents. A big hit was the giant unicorn Daddy brought home for her. When she got her cloths from grammy and papa she immediately discarded the new cloths she'd been wearing all day and put them on. She had treats in her lunch, she got to go strawberry picking with her preschool class. She was just smiles all day long. Here are a few pictures from the big day.

She was chilling out with her unicorn watching Noggin before heading out to preschool.

Lysie's 5th Birthday Party

So for Lysie's birthday we decided to take our party planning down a notch. For the past several years we've planned elaborate themed birthday parties where we went all out in our decorating, planned every minute of activity and even had food to match our theme. This year we decided we'd just rent a bounce house serve cake and ice cream and play a few childhood games like "butterfly, butterfly, bunny" aka duck duck goose and freeze dance. Lysie and her friends apparently had fun though I Mike and I found it a bit weird. Anyway, we kept the set the bounce house up early and it stayed up for a couple of hours after the party so that our nephew could come bounce after all the little kids left. But he wasn't the only big kid to get in on the action. First Daddy decided he should try it out. Then Auntie Robyn convinced me that I should try jumping even Robyn got in on the action.

She's so excited that everyone was celebrating her birthday!

Auntie in the bounce house with Chloe-O

Kate couldn't go in bounce house so Nick gave her a ride!

Eat or Wear It

So while Addie had her camp-out with Daddy and her Girl Scout friends. Lysie and cousin Chloe had their own little camp-out in a tent in the upstairs play room. They had Mc Donalds, watched a movie while I painted their fingers and toe nails and then ate smores. They were way too excited to sleep and while chloe finally fell asleep around 9 pm (I know this because I was sitting near the tent reading a book in hopes of intimidating them into going to sleep) Lysie didn't go to sleep until closer to 9:30 - 10 pm after I threated to move her back to her bed in her bedroom. They got up early in the morning played and then ate Lucky Charms and Donuts for breakfast. (I know the breakfast of champions!) I was so busy entertaining the them I forgot to take pictures!

So it turns out that Addie had missed smores because they were doing them Saturday night after she'd already left to come home so I promised we'd make them when she got home. Well they enjoyed them but while eating Lysie became torn over the idea of eat the smores or wearing them which totally reminds me of the book "Tale of a Fourth Grade Nothing" hence the title of this post.

GS Camp

Addie's first every Brownie camp-out. Daddy went with her though he had to sleep in the man's camp away from all the girls.

The Fashion Show

So Lysie and her friend on the regularly Friday playdate came down all decked out in dress up cloths for a "fashion show". Aren't they too cute!

Nick's Birthday

So for Nick's 7th Birthday we went to this place called Austin Park and Pizza and the kids played the indoor games and rides for awhile and then we all went outside for some mini golf.
